Red-tailed Hawk from the couch as seen by a Nikon D5100 through a 300 mm lens.
You can see the white of its eye if you use your imagination.
Photos are being loaded from my local library where I am surrounded by people carrying on quiet, but distracting, conversations.
This is Day 5 of no web connectivity from home. Many hours spent in fruitless pursuit of a solution. And — once again — one learns what one has no desire to know about power cycling, line testing, ridiculous theories, trips to the computer guru who agrees that both computer and router are working flawlessly — and that it is the modem (which belongs to Verizon) that may have lovely blinking green lights, but it is now a glorified lighting prop and not a functioning modem.
After a testy, but determined, conversation with Verizon again this morning, Verizon has agreed to furnish a replacement modem in 2-3 working days.
So, perhaps in 2-3 or 4-5- working days, I may resume the sanity of working at home — in lovely silence.
