Aunt Jane’s Geranium
Aunt Jane died in 2010. She was 104 year’s old, and she outlived Millie Niss aka Spork Major by several months.
When we went to clear her house, we found this geranium — neglected — underneath some furniture on an abandoned sunporch.
The plant had not been watered in recent memory.
I brought it home anyway — watered it, fed it. The oak seedling that took up residence in the pot with the geranium — clearly, the plant had been kept outside — didn’t make it, but the plant survives and blooms at strange times of the year for a geranium.
This year, it blooms for Millie.
